This memorial website was created to remember our beloved  father, Ba John Ndasi Sama Fokum who was born in Cameroon on May 29, 1930 and passed away on February 16, 2016. You will live forever in our hearts and our memories.

Ba John Ndasi Sama Fokum, was born to Ba Christain Sama Fokum and Na Emilia Nina Sikod epse Sama Fokum,  from Ntaiton Bali Nyonga, both of blesseth memory. At the age of 5 (1935) he attended a vernacular school in Bali for 2 years, after which he was taken to Douala by the father´s junior sister Na Veronica Kah Bang. While in Douala he attended a French Primary School up to class four, where he left to join his parents in Bali.

After the death of his father, he moved with his mother to Buea and later to Mondoni in the South West Province. While in Mondoni, he attended the then Mondoni Basel Mission School, where he completed his standard six in 1944. He  attended Sasse College from 1944 - 1946, after which he left because of financial constrains.

Ba John Ndasi Sama Fokum, then pick up  his first job with  Cameroon Development Cooperation (CDC)  in  Mondoni Plantation, as a  young and aspiring time keeper in 1950.
 After working for 2 years, he left  to attend the  Prison Training School in Enugu Nigeria, where he graduated as a Prison Warder in 1956

Upon his return to Cameroon, he joined the Prison Department and worked in Buea as a Prison Warder before  joining  the CDC Marine in 1959,  and  becoming  a full Cameroonian Marine Officer, after passing an examination and attending a Marine School in Enugu Nigeria.

While with the Marine, he became a trade unionist and was given a scholarship to attend the International Labour College in Addis Ababa, the capital city of  Ethiopia, and graduated as a trade unionist

Our Dad retired as a seasoned trade  unionist. While on retirement, he was still  active doing business.

He contributed his own quota to the history of our Nation as an active politician from Kamerun National Democratic Party(KNDP) through Cameroon National Union(CNU)  to  today´s Cameroon Peoples Democratic  Movement (CPDM).

Ba John Ndasi Sama Fokum.as a young man got Married to two wives, Na Julie, the surviving wife  and Na  Mary of blesseth memory. He left behind 8 children, 13 grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, great grand children, inlaws, host of friends and well-wishers to mourn him.
 
We are grateful to God for the time you spent with us on earth, For the Christian  and  moral values you thought us, for your unconditional  love   for the  entire family.
May God Rest your soul daddy, our Hero, our Mentor, and source of inspiration!
